Basis of My Life – Mahesh Passa

My school days from 1950 to 1960 became basis of my life, physically, mentally and spiritually.Scouting taught me manners etiquettes, and friendliness that have lasted for a lifetime. The first and only school in Sindh established in 1845-46 where great world leaders like Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the great Quaid-e-Azam, athletes, and world known test cricketers studied! 1950 to 1960 is considered to be the golden era of CMS secondary school! Three students topped the board exam in 1960: nos.1,2,10! 13th Karachi Boy Scouts group was one of the best – if not the best – in Pakistan and the scouting world.

Amoung teachers, most of them had degrees in their respective fields i.e. BA, BT. LLB. Bible was taught, so was farsi in 7th and 8th grade. My matric classmates made great achievements in their own fields for which I am proud! Once again, I feel proud to be a humble student of CMS school that taught me to be a human being.

As it is said that learning starts at birth and ends at grave! Thanks to the creators of CMS Alumni Group who brought us together after 60 years!
