Syed Zahid Hussain

Class of 1961

Zahid Hussain ensured his breaking in Corporate Sector by starting his career with Pakistan Tobacco Ltd, then the British American Tobacco Company Ltd, England. He held top positions of the Chairman Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation, State Petroleum Refinery, Petrochemical Cooperation, and the State Cement Corporation of Pakistan.

He also served as the Managing Director/CEO of Pakistan’s largest E&P, the Oil and Gas Development Corporation.

Zahid Hussain served as an Ambassador in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Eritrea and Burundi.

He also served as Pakistan’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations Environment Program UNEP and UN Habitat and he served as Chairman of the Group of 77 and China, Nairobi Chapter.

He has a B.Sc. and a Bachelor of Law Degree as well as an MA in International Relations.

He is a qualified Director certified by the Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG) and has served on number of boards. Currently, he is Director on different boards. Zahid Hussain is a fellow member of Institute of Management, England, and International Biographic Centre USA
